T8 LED Tube Fittings

An LED tube fitting is the housing with G13 lampholders that takes a T8 LED tube. Choose an aluminium fitting for indoor use in 60, 90, 120 or 150 cm, or a waterproof fitting (IP65) for garages, cellars and damp areas. The aluminium fittings are wired for LED: no ballast and no starter, so you get instant light without flicker or hum. The tube is not included: combine the fitting with a T8 LED tube of the same length.

Which LED tube fitting do you need?

  • Aluminium fitting for indoor use (IP20): slim (3 x 5 cm) and light, for workshops, garages, sheds, warehouses and offices. In 60, 90, 120 and 150 cm, with connection cable or Plug & Play with an EU plug.
  • Waterproof fitting (IP65): dust-tight and protected against water jets, for damp areas, cellars, stables and covered outdoor spaces. In 60, 120 and 150 cm, single or twin. See the waterproof fittings for LED tubes.

Rather not use a separate tube? An LED batten has the LED built in: one fitting, no tube and no starter.

Which length and which tube?

The fitting and the tube are always the same length. Choose the length of your old fluorescent tube:

Have thinner T5 tubes (16 mm)? Then choose a T5 LED tube fitting.

Hard-wired or Plug & Play?

  • With connection cable (L/N): the fitting is wired into the mains, for example at a ceiling point or in a junction box.
  • Plug & Play with EU plug: plug it into the socket and you are done. Handy in a shed, hobby room or above a workbench.

If you are unsure about hard-wiring, have it done by an electrician.

Frequently asked questions about LED tube fittings

Is the LED tube included with the fitting?

No, you order the tube separately, so you choose the light colour and efficiency yourself. Want a complete LED tube fitting? Add the fitting and a T8 LED tube of the same length to your basket; the tube clicks in within seconds.

Do I need a starter or ballast?

No. The aluminium fittings are wired for single-ended LED tubes, like all our T8 tubes. Mains voltage goes straight to the tube, without a starter or ballast.

Can I fit a normal fluorescent tube?

No. A fluorescent tube needs a ballast and starter, and this fitting has neither. Use LED tubes only.

Can I convert my old fluorescent fitting to LED?

Often, yes. If your fitting has a magnetic ballast with a starter, replace the starter with an LED starter. With an electronic (HF) ballast, remove the ballast and connect the tube directly. If the fitting is old or yellowed, a new LED tube fitting is often quicker and cheaper. Step-by-step guide to installing LED tubes

How do I install the fitting?

Screw the two supplied mounting brackets to the ceiling or wall and clip the fitting into them. Connect the cable (or plug it in), place the tube in the lampholders and turn it a quarter turn until it locks.

Is the aluminium fitting suitable for damp areas?

No, it is designed for dry indoor spaces. For a bathroom, unheated garage, cellar, stable or covered outdoor area, choose a waterproof fitting with IP65.

What warranty do I get?

5 years on the aluminium fittings and 2 years on the waterproof fittings. Our LED tubes come with a 5-year warranty.

Do you supply for projects?

Yes. Volume pricing for larger quantities and payment on invoice for business customers. Request a quote and we will do the calculation with you.
