50m LED strip in a building shell, above plants in a greenhouse and along scaffolding on site

50m LED strips

A long line of light along scaffolding, a warehouse, a greenhouse or a facade goes up in one go with a 50 meter LED strip on a reel. Our 50 meter strips run directly on 230V with an EU plug, without a separate power supply, and are waterproof to IP65.

They also keep you flexible. Cut the strip to size per meter and join the pieces again with a connector, or give each piece its own plug. For Basic and Pro, corner and T connectors also let you make corners and branches. That way one reel covers different spots on site, in the nursery or in the warehouse. Choose Basic, Pro or Ultra (60 to 180 LEDs per meter), COB for a seamless line without dots or RGB for colour. Larger quantities for a project? Request a custom quote.

What a 50 meter LED strip is used for

  • Construction sites and scaffolding: temporary lighting along scaffolding, in stairwells, basements and shell construction. One reel lights a long walkway without power supplies along the way.
  • Warehouses and workshops: long lines of light above workbenches, racking and aisles.
  • Greenhouses and nurseries: work and path lighting in a humid environment. Pro and Ultra are also used for day-length extension above crops.
  • Facades, canopies and terraces: a continuous contour line along a roof edge or canopy, in white or in colour.
  • Events and hospitality: tents, bars and stages, quick to set up and take down.

Which 50 meter LED strip should you choose?

  • Basic, 60 LEDs per meter: 4 W/m and about 400 lumens per meter, 200 W per reel. For accent and contour lighting, facades and events.
  • Pro, 120 LEDs per meter: 4.8 W/m and about 480 lumens per meter, 240 W per reel. A more even line for corridors, warehouses and construction sites.
  • Ultra, 180 LEDs per meter: 7.2 W/m and about 720 lumens per meter, 360 W per reel, 12 mm wide. For functional light in workshops, greenhouses and taller spaces.
  • COB 230V: 10 W/m and about 1,000 lumens per meter, 500 W per reel. One seamless line of light without dots, for lines in plain view.
  • RGB 230V: 12 W/m, 600 W per reel. Colour for facades, canopies and events, controlled with a 230V RGB controller.

The white versions come in 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6000K cool white. Also see all 230V LED strips and the waterproof LED strips.

Why 50 meters on 230V?

A 230V strip connects directly to the mains. You need no power supplies and no extra cabling along the way. A 24V strip usually needs power fed in every 10 meters; for 50 meters you then need several power supplies and extra cables. For short runs indoors, in cabinets and furniture, 24V remains the better choice: see the 24V LED strips.

Connecting, cutting and extending

  • Connecting: plug the EU plug into a socket. Have a fixed connection made by an electrician, and on site or outdoors use a circuit protected by an RCD.
  • Cutting: Basic, Pro and Ultra are cut per meter at the marked cutting points. Each piece gets its own plug, so you can use the rest of the reel elsewhere.
  • Finishing: close every cut end with an end cap so the strip stays waterproof.
  • Joining: a connector joins two pieces of strip again. For Basic and Pro there are also corner and T connectors for corners and branches. See the LED strip connectors.
  • Length: up to 50 meters on one plug. Need more? Start a new line with its own plug.

Outdoors, on site and in the greenhouse: what to watch

  • IP65 protects against dust, rain and water jets, not against immersion. Mount the strip so water can drain away and do not leave it in standing water.
  • Keep the plug and connection dry, or place them in a waterproof junction box.
  • On site, protect the strip from damage: fix it along scaffold tubes or walls, not on the ground where machinery drives.
  • The strips work at ambient temperatures from -25°C to +45°C.

Frequently asked questions about 50 meter LED strips

Can I connect 50 meters to one plug?

Yes. The strips are designed to be powered for up to 50 meters from a single plug. For longer runs, start a new line with its own plug.

Can I shorten the reel and use the rest elsewhere?

Yes. Cut at a cutting point and fit each piece with a plug and an end cap. That way one reel covers several locations.

How much power does a 50 meter LED strip use?

Basic uses 200 W per reel, Pro 240 W, Ultra 360 W, COB 500 W and RGB 600 W. A Pro strip that is on 10 hours a day therefore uses 2.4 kWh per day.

Is a 50 meter LED strip dimmable?

Yes, with a suitable 230V strip dimmer. A standard wall dimmer usually does not work. See the dimmable LED strips.

Do you supply larger quantities?

Yes. Volume pricing applies to larger quantities, and for projects in construction, horticulture or industry we prepare a custom quote.
