T8 LED Tubes

T8 LED tubes are the standard replacement for the classic fluorescent tube with a 26 mm diameter and G13 cap. Here you will find all T8 tubes in one overview, in 60 cm (2ft), 90 cm (3ft), 120 cm (4ft) and 150 cm (5ft), from 120 to 200 lm/W and from 3000K to 6000K. Choose the length of your current tube; the LED tube is the same length and fits the same lampholders.

Which length of T8 LED tube do you need?

Measure your current tube including the pins. The LED tube always replaces a fluorescent tube of the same length.

  • 60 cm / 2ft (590 mm): 6 to 9W, up to 1,800 lumens, replaces an 18W tube.
  • 90 cm / 3ft (895 mm): 14W, up to 1,960 lumens, replaces a 30W tube.
  • 120 cm / 4ft (1,200 mm): 15 to 18W, up to 3,600 lumens, replaces a 36W tube. The most common length.
  • 150 cm / 5ft (1,500 mm): 18 to 25W, up to 5,000 lumens, replaces a 58W tube.

For coloured mood lighting, see the smart RGB tubes.

What do T8 and G13 mean?

T8 refers to the tube diameter: 8/8 of an inch, about 26 mm. G13 is the cap: two pins at each end, 13 mm apart. A T8 LED tube therefore fits any T8 fitting with G13 lampholders of the same length. Thinner 16 mm tubes are T5 with a G5 cap; you will find them under T5 LED tubes.

Tube only or a complete fitting?

If you already have fittings, just replace the tube: with an LED starter in a fitting with a starter, or after removing the ballast. How this works is explained under LED tubes. For a new installation, choose a pre-wired LED tube fitting or a waterproof fitting for garages, cellars and outdoors.

Frequently asked questions about T8 LED tubes

How do I know whether I need T8 or T5?

Measure the diameter of your current tube: 26 mm is T8, 16 mm is T5. If in doubt, the old tube or the fitting often says T8, T26 or G13.

What length is my fluorescent tube?

Measure from pin to pin. Common T8 lengths are 590 mm (2ft), 895 mm (3ft), 1,200 mm (4ft) and 1,500 mm (5ft). The old tube often also shows its wattage: 18W is 60 cm, 30W is 90 cm, 36W is 120 cm and 58W is 150 cm.

Will a T8 LED tube fit an old T12 fitting?

T12 tubes (38 mm) use the same G13 cap and the same lengths, so a T8 LED tube usually fits. As with T8 fittings, the ballast is removed or an LED starter is used, depending on the fitting.

Which efficiency should I choose?

120 lm/W is the most affordable replacement for areas with short operating hours. 140 and 170 lm/W give more light for offices, workshops and warehouses. With 200 lm/W you use the least energy when the lights are on all day. Calculate your savings

How long does a T8 LED tube last?

They are designed for 50,000 operating hours, more than 13 years at 10 hours a day. All tubes come with a 5-year warranty.
