Which length of T5 LED tube do you need?

Measure your current tube from pin to pin. T5 lengths are given in millimetres; the LED tube is 1 mm shorter than the fluorescent size and fits the same lampholders.

548 mm (55 cm): 9W, up to 1,530 lumens, replaces the 549 mm, 14W T5 fluorescent tube.
1148 mm (120 cm): 18W, up to 3,600 lumens, replaces the 1149 mm, 28W T5 tube.
1448 mm (150 cm): 25W, up to 5,000 lumens, replaces the 1449 mm, 35W T5 tube.

Replacing T5 fluorescent tubes with LED: how it works

A T5 fitting always has an electronic ballast and never a starter. Our T5 LED tubes have a built-in driver and run directly on 230V. When converting, the ballast is taken out of the circuit and live and neutral are connected to one end of the tube. Fit the tube with its marked supply end at that side. Prefer not to convert? Frequently asked questions about T5 LED tubes

How do I know whether I need T5 or T8?

Measure the diameter: a T5 fluorescent tube is 16 mm with a G5 cap and small pins, a T8 is 26 mm with a G13 cap. The lengths differ too. If you have T8, see our T8 LED tubes.

Do I need a starter?

No. T5 fittings do not use a starter. The electronic ballast is removed and the LED tube receives 230V directly at one end.

Are T5 LED tubes dimmable?

No. Do not connect them to a dimmer or a dimmable ballast.

How much do I save?

A T5 fluorescent tube uses more than its rated wattage together with its ballast. The LED tube needs no ballast, so you save up to around 40 percent for the same or more light. Calculate your savings

How long does a T5 LED tube last?

They are designed for 50,000 operating hours, more than 13 years at 10 hours a day, against around 20,000 hours for a T5 fluorescent tube. All tubes come with a 5-year warranty.
