LED strip dimmers, controllers and remotes

LED strip dimmers, controllers and remotes

Dim your line of light at the press of a button, change the color from the sofa or switch the light on with your voice. With an LED strip controller and remote you set brightness, color temperature and color, in one room or across several zones. Choose RF with a remote or wall panel, WiFi with an app, or Matter, Zigbee and DMX in a smart home or building system.

What you can do with a controller

  • Light for every moment: bright task light in the kitchen while cooking, a soft glow while eating.
  • Zones: living room, kitchen and garden each controlled separately with one remote, up to 4 or 8 groups.
  • Color and effects: color transitions and chasing light with RGB and digital strips.
  • Smart home: schedules, scenes and voice control via the app, Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa.

Step 1: choose the controller that matches your strip

  • Single color: dimming only, for white strips with one color temperature.
  • CCT: dimming plus color temperature from warm to cool.
  • RGB, RGBW or RGB+CCT: color, white and brightness. The controller must have the same number of channels as the strip.
  • 5-in-1: one controller for every type of strip, handy when you combine different types.
  • Digital (SPI): for digital RGB strips controlled per segment.

Most controllers work at 12V and 24V, the 5-in-1 controllers up to 48V. The Magic controller for digital strips works at 24V. See the RGB LED strips.

Step 2: choose how you want to control it

  • Remote and wall panel (RF 2.4 GHz): direct and reliable, no internet needed. One remote controls up to 4 or 8 zones.
  • App via WiFi: with a WiFi controller or with a gateway that connects your RF controllers to the app. Voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant too.
  • Matter: the Matter controller works with Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa.
  • Zigbee: for anyone who already has a Zigbee network.
  • DMX: for professional lighting control in shops, hospitality and events.

Power supply and controller in one

The Mi-Light smart drivers are a 24V power supply and RGB or RGBW controller in one: fewer components, less wiring. For other combinations, choose a separate controller with a matching power supply.

Dimming 230V LED strips

A 230V strip is not dimmed with a 12V or 24V controller. Use a 230V strip dimmer or, for RGB, a 230V RGB controller. See the 230V LED strips.

Frequently asked questions about LED strip dimmers and controllers

Can I dim an LED strip with a standard wall dimmer?

No. A 12V or 24V strip is dimmed with an LED strip controller between the power supply and the strip. Still want a switch on the wall? Then choose a wireless wall panel.

Does the remote work with several controllers?

Yes. You can link several controllers to one zone or spread them over 4 or 8 zones.

Can I control my LED strip with my phone?

Yes, with a WiFi or Matter controller, or with a gateway that connects your RF controllers to the app.

Does it work with Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa?

The Matter controller works with Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa. The WiFi controller and the gateway work with Alexa and Google Assistant.

Which controller do I need for an RGB+CCT strip?

An RGB+CCT controller or a 5-in-1 controller, with an RGB+CCT remote or wall panel.

Are there complete sets with a controller?

Yes, the RGBW and RGB+CCT sets include the strip, controller, remote and power supply. See the LED strip sets.
