Dimmable LED strips

Dimmable LED strips

Bright light when you work, a soft glow when you relax: with a dimmable LED strip you choose the right light at every moment. All our strips are dimmable. A 12V or 24V strip is dimmed with a controller with a remote, wall panel or app; a 230V strip with a suitable strip dimmer.

Why dim?

  • Atmosphere: the same line of light gives bright light by day and a calm glow in the evening.
  • Comfort: in bedrooms, hospitality and hotels, dimmed light feels more pleasant.
  • Energy: dimmed light uses less electricity.
  • Just enough light: in shops and offices you tune the light level to the space.

How to dim a 12V or 24V strip

Place an LED strip dimmer or controller between the power supply and the strip. It controls the brightness without flicker and is operated with a remote, a wireless wall panel or an app. A standard 230V wall dimmer does not work on these strips.

  • White strips: a single-color controller.
  • CCT strips: a CCT controller to set the color temperature too.
  • RGB strips: an RGB, RGBW or RGB+CCT controller.

See the dimmers and controllers.

How to dim a 230V strip

A 230V strip is dimmed with a suitable 230V strip dimmer. Not every wall dimmer works; if in doubt, contact us. See the 230V LED strips.

Which strip dims most beautifully?

COB strips keep an even line without dots even when dimmed, with CRI 90+. For ambient lighting in living spaces and hospitality, choose warm white; for color and white in one strip, an RGB+CCT strip. See the COB LED strips.

Frequently asked questions about dimmable LED strips

Are all LED strips dimmable?

All our strips are dimmable, provided you use the right dimmer or controller: an LED strip controller at 12V and 24V, a 230V strip dimmer at 230V.

Why does my wall dimmer not work?

A standard wall dimmer regulates the 230V mains voltage. A 12V or 24V strip gets DC from the power supply, and that has to be dimmed after the power supply with an LED strip controller.

Does a dimmed LED strip flicker?

Not visibly with a suitable controller. Use a controller rated for the voltage and wattage of your strip.

Can I dim with a switch on the wall?

Yes, with a wireless wall panel that works with the controller. No new wiring is needed.
