High quality

This LED strip is made from high-quality flexible plastic, with 3M adhesive backing for straightforward installation. It is supplied in a 5-metre length and can be cut or joined to additional sections. Rated IP20, it is not resistant to water or moisture and must only be used indoors at temperatures between -25°C and 60°C.

Extending or shortening an LED strip

This SMD5050 LED strip can be cut or extended easily. Cut through the centre of the copper pads marked + and -. The resulting ends can be clipped into a connector or sealed with a cap.

With a voltage drop of approximately 0.1V per metre, LED brightness remains steady across the strip. For optimal operation, we recommend extending it only up to these lengths:

12V LED strip

We recommend not extending this 12V strip beyond 10 metres to maintain an even light effect without noticeable brightness loss.

24V LED strip

We recommend not extending this 24V strip beyond 20 metres to maintain an even light effect without noticeable brightness loss.

Choosing the right power supply

A power adapter is required to connect the strip. It operates on 12V/24V and requires a suitable adapter to convert the supply. Choosing the correct adapter helps the strip perform well and prevents insufficient power.

The adapter should have at least 20% more wattage than the strip. Example: 5 metres = 72W; 72 × 1.2 = 86.4W. An adapter of at least 86.4W is therefore required; we recommend 100W.

LED strip applications

This LED strip is suitable for businesses and home users. Common locations include exhibition stands, escape rooms, shops, cafés, restaurants, public transport, living rooms and bedrooms.

Other examples include lighting along stair treads, in cupboards or under a sofa or bed. Cafés often use LED strips to illuminate bars, while ceiling coves are another frequent application.

Light colour

Choose the colour temperature according to the purpose of the lighting. The usual uses for each colour are described below.

  • 2400K has a soft orange glow, like candlelight or a late sunset. Suitable for a warm, homely and restful atmosphere in living rooms, cafés, restaurants and other spaces that do not need bright light.
  • 3000K has a slightly yellow-orange glow and is brighter than 2700K while remaining warm. Suitable for comfortable lighting in living rooms, waiting areas, cafés, restaurants, corridors and general spaces.
  • 4000K has a white-yellow tone. Suitable where visibility, concentration and comfort matter, including offices, classrooms, kitchens, corridors, shops, changing rooms, hairdressers, stairwells and waiting areas.
  • 6000K has a white to pale-blue tone. Suitable for bright spaces requiring good visibility and concentration, such as hospitals, laboratories, workshops, studios and garages.
