The advantages of professional LED panels

Professional LED panels are an efficient and durable replacement for traditional fluorescent lighting. LED panels are known for their high energy efficiency. Compared to conventional lighting, energy savings can be up to approximately 70%, depending on the type of panel and application. Additionally, LED panels have a long lifespan of up to about 50,000 burning hours, resulting in fewer replacements and lower maintenance costs.

Because LED panels do not contain harmful substances such as mercury and have lower energy consumption, they also contribute to a more durable lighting solution.

LED panels in offices and workspaces

LED panels are especially suitable for offices and other workspaces. They are often installed in system ceilings and provide a sleek, calm appearance with uniform light distribution.

Comfortable lighting is essential for workplaces. LED panels with a low glare value (UGR<19) reduce reflections and annoying glare on screens. In combination with light colors such as 4000K or 6000K, this creates a pleasant working environment that supports concentration and productivity.

How many LED panels do you need per room?

The number of LED panels needed per room depends on multiple factors, such as ceiling height, daylight incidence, wall color, and the desired light level. As a general guideline, at a ceiling height of approximately 2.5 meters, one 60x60 cm LED panel is suitable for about 8 m² of floor space.

For larger rooms or specific applications, additional lighting may be necessary. Consider combining LED panels with other forms of LED lighting to highlight accents or better illuminate zones.

LED panels for humid rooms (IP65)

For rooms where moisture or splashing water occurs, there are special waterproof LED panels with an IP65 protection rating. These panels are suitable for environments such as sanitary rooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and laboratories.

IP65 means that the fixture is protected against dust and splashing water. These panels are not intended for direct water jets but provide reliable lighting in humid conditions where standard panels are less suitable.

Edgelit and backlit LED panels

LED panels are available in edgelit and backlit versions. Both variants have their own characteristics.

Edgelit panels are thin and are often used when a sleek profile is desired. They are suitable for system ceilings, surface-mounted frames, and pendant mounting. Backlit panels are generally slightly thicker but provide direct and uniform light distribution because the LEDs are located behind the diffuser.

The choice between edgelit and backlit depends on the desired mounting, the available profile, and the preference for light distribution.
